If you're traveling for work, then you're trying to treat at
least some hotel rooms like your private "home."
Hotel rooms can be beautiful, but if you use one for a long
time, you can do a few things to make you feel like a little more like yourself
in that hotel room.

Trip-advisor outlined a couple of tips of great ones for this
month, and as someone who is traveling a lot personally, I have a few of my own
worth applying.
Of course, what makes you happy at home depends on the
individual, but here are a few ideas to begin with:
Buy Some Snacks
You will inevitably return tired and probably hungry in this
room. Buy a substantial and swinging grocery or convenience store in your local
area to buy some au fait snacks. If you have a fridge or microwave in your
hotel room, then there are obviously more opportunities than others.
I am a fan of wrestling a pound of grapes or other fruits if I
get there and have a chip-like product, bottles of water, and a diet coke or
two. Nothing is worse than going home tired and starving and not having
anything you need for a snack. This is an easy (and cheaper way to succeed
compared to room service).
Ditch the Literature
Lots of hotel rooms always filled with hundreds of articles.
Instead of staring at a spa or room service brochure throughout the week, take
the hotel magazines and put them in a daily box. If you don't look for ads or
travel magazines all week, you might feel a lot less like you're in a hotel.
Unpack
It was a recommendation from my favorite travel agent, but I
do it regularly. Once you get into a hotel room, unpack your luggage and use
the dresser you have received. Do you not live at home from a suitcase? Putting
stuff in drawers will make the room feel a little home from the door.
Pack the Chromecast
Do not let a hotel slow you down if you're in the middle of
watching something at home. Take your Chromecast or Fire TV stick along so you
can download this movie or show it on your hotel TV while you're away from
town.
Bring Alexa
If you love to use a Google Assistant or Amazon's Alexa, put a
dot, or a home mini in your travel bag. The hotel may seem much more
comfortable if it quickly confirms that morning or can ask questions on the
fly.
Those ideas above are just fundamental for you to feel
comfortable while spending your time in the hotel room. If you think that you
have better ideas to make your hotel room a better sanctuary, feel free to
leave a comment below. One thing for sure, if you apply some of these ideas you
could treat your business trips as an unforgettable trip of your life.
